My ‘Attack the Stash’ journey has started in ernest. Last year I purchased 3 meters each of mid-green, sky blue and royal blue satin from one of the haberdashery emporiums on Goldhawk Road. The fabric was intended for an art project, but I changed my mind.
So there was 9 meters of fabric, all neatly folded in the box, unloved. Until I came across some other floral dress fabric which included shades of green. Ah! I can make a co-ordinating outfit.
I headed over to the ‘Sew Over It’ website in search of a simple top, and came across this little gem.

Sewing with such a slippery fabric such as satin can be tricky. After pre-washing, I lightly sprayed the material with starch, which will give it a little more grip, so when it comes to cutting, it shouldn’t slip and slide about too much.
Cutting of said fabric is to commence later today – wish me luck!
